Thanks to the amazing generosity of an anonymous donor, we were afforded the opportunity to hire a Resource Development Director. After screening and interviewing several qualified candidates, the interview committee was unanimous in its decision to hire Darlene Moss to take the helm as our Resource Development Director.
Darlene is a native of Bertie County, N.C. She graduated from Meredith College and earned a Master’s degree from UNC-Pembroke in Education Administration. She has over 30 years of experience in education including her first 10 years in Carteret County. Her career has included teaching, professional development, grant writing, directing Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and working for the N.C. Department of Public Instruction as a Regional Coordinator for 19 counties in northeastern N.C. She retired from education in 2013 and started her own consulting business.
“I’m happy to be back in eastern North Carolina working to enhance the positive efforts of BGCCC. I will utilize my career education experiences to continue to create great futures for young people through advancing philanthropy and stewardship,” says Darlene.
Darlene has already traveled to BGCA National Headquarters to meet with Resource Development officials since taking on her new role. Our organization is extraordinarily excited by the potential of a Resource Development department and the experiences and talent that Darlene brings to the table.
